Chief executive Derek Bowden has confirmed that the Blues will have money with which to sign new players in the summer. The January purchase of Argentinian midfielder Luciano Civelli spent the last of Marcus Evans's initial £12 million investment.

David Wright looks set to return to the Town side which joins 6,000 fans in travelling to Chelsea for Saturday's FA Cup fourth round tie. While Wright is expected to come in at right-back, the Blues are waiting on left-back Ben Thatcher, who has spent much of the last week ill.

Pablo Couñago's close range header saw the Blues to a 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday at Portman Road, Steve Watson having put the visitors in front just after half-time. Town had the chances to take all three points but again were found wanting in and around the penalty area.

Town manager Jim Magilton praised the character of his side after they came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Coventry at the Ricoh Arena. The Blues boss felt that Richard Naylor was fouled in the run-up to Coventry's second goal.
